Subject:  E. O. J.’ s Chief Training Officer in Antigua.

 The Chief Training Officer of the Electoral Office of Jamaica is in Antigua to facilitate the training of the Country’s election day workers.

Ms. Pauline Welsh’s visit forms part of the technical assistance arranged by contract between the Electoral Office of Jamaica and the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission.

Ms. Welsh is no stranger to Antigua as she spearheaded in 2003, the training of all workers associated with the registration process which resulted in more than 42,000 persons on the voters’ register.  One other representative of the E. O. J.  , Mr. Neville Parkins head of the Jamaican team is already in Antigua with the others expected to arrive in the next week.
