Subject:   Appointment of Election Agent.

The attention of all candidates contesting general elections in Antigua and Barbuda is drawn to Section 38 of the Representation of the People  (Amendment )  Act 2001, which calls for each candidate to name an election agent no later than seven days after the Governor General has issued the

Writ of Election.

The law requires the candidate to notify the Supervisor of Elections in writing, of the person chosen to be the candidate’s election agent .

Candidates should submit these names to the Supervisor of Elections by Saturday 6th March 2004.  Meantime they are also being reminded that the names of persons to be appointed as polling agents should be submitted not later than three days before the opening of the poll.  Forms for this purpose can be collected at the office of the Electoral Commission on Queen Elizabeth’s Highway, St. Johns.
